OFCOM RULING ON SKY
OFCOM RULING ON SKY
The OFcom ruling that will mean Sky has to sell Sky Sports 1 and 2 cheaper may mean an increased uptake by domestic customers. This could impact on the number of bums on seats in pubs to watch the football.
Some suggest that a better, more attractive offering in pubs, such as HD or 3D, may be needed to counteract the decision.
What does everyone think – and what else could we do to make this important customer occasion even more attractive for our customers?

NEW RULES ON LAP DANCING
From April 6th some councils will apply new rules that means that a “licence for a sexual entertainment venue” may be required for lap-dancing or similar activities at your pub!
DPS’s will only be able to provide these activities without the new licence for 11 periods of 24 hours in any 12 month period, with at least a month between occasions.
If your establishment wants more than this then get your applications in within the next 6 months. What the council will then do is gather these up together at the end of the 6 months and decide. Any received after this period will be on a first-come-first-served basis, and a quota may be imposed on an area meaning you will not be successful.
You need to do this even if you already have these activities on your premises licence, “Grandfather Rights” do not apply!
Sounds like my part-time job as a male stripper may be coming to a sticky end !

* Drink as much as you like for £X
* Women drink free
* Nurses drinks discounted by x% (unless you stipulate the quantity)
* Complete the pub crawl challenege and we will give you a bottle of whisky for £X
* Collect all the points on our '1 pint for 10' loyalty card today and the 11th pint is on us
* All drinks £1 if Manchester United score in the first half (unlikely, anyway!!!!!!!)
* Free pint of Hydes Bitter if City beat United (much more likely!!!!!)
